Personally, I think Microsoft should have just left her hacking vague. Anything after that would leave her nno chance of getting in. She uses hacking techniques that would only be effective on 1970s computers. It seems as if the UNSC has never heard of a password timeout lock.Īs you can see, Cortana would have trouble getting into your computer. I think you're severely overestimating the power of brute force. VIs are more like UNSC "dumb" AIs, good at the task they were programed to do and only as good as that programing.Īnd I think you severely overestimate the security of a basic laptop. EDI is likely one of the few AI that would be available for use by the Citadel. The former are irrelevant to this conversation.
The only actual AI that I know of in the ME 'verse are the Geth and EDI. A timeout lock would literally lock her out if she didn't get the right password the first few times. The reason being is that Cortana uses brute force to get through locks. Cortana has the brute force to overpower any AI she comes across, but she wouldn't be able to hack your laptop. Mass Effect AI and VI, as far as we know, are more effective than UNSC AIs. So who wins this all out war? Do Master Chief and Commander Lasky steamroll on the Citadel in a few months? Does the UNSC get its ass handed to it by Shepard (for the scenario, we'll assume a fully upgraded Soldier) and his crew? Or perhaps it's a long, bloody war with the Citadel giving hard fights on the ground, and the UNSC dominating in space? Not to mention the UNSC has a far larger production capacity than the Citadel. The Reason I don't include the Covenant aiding the UNSC, yet I have all Citadel races fighting the UNSC, is becauseġ) The fleets of the Citadel are much smallĢ) UNSC fleets are massive in comparison, as well as UNSC ships. (Systems Alliance still have their worlds, just assume that any worlds that also belong to the UNSC are duplicated and moved deeper into Citadel territory.) Also, the Mass Effect relays are still intact, but the UNSC don't have immediate access to it (Their use of the relays is dependant on if they could figure out how to use the Mass Effect tech). The UNSC has all of her colonized worlds, as do all of the Mass Effect races. All Citadel forces, from Salarians and Asari to the Systems Alliance are pitted in a war against the UNSC. So the UNSC and Citadel (At the height of their power, before Mass Effect 3) are at war.
